The continuation of the Noses Elbows And Knees exhibition at Half Gallery, New York, 2017, by praised Mario Sorrenti and John Baldessari, in the form of a photobook published at the end of 2017 and curated by Neville Wakefield, has been set to be launched by Saint Laurent Rive Droite.
Signature paintings of body parts on photographs by Baldessari, which comment on Hollywood culture and are packed with colors, as well as Sorrenti’s attentive eye for photography can all be found inside the photobook. The artist John Baldessari was famous for his paintings of body parts on photographs, a pinch towards Hollywood culture with his signature being the elements of color. The photographer, Mario Sorrenti, in the 90s, reinterpreted beauty photographs by questioning conventions. Together they wanted to deconstruct familiar representations by stripping off clothes and codes of society, trough fashion, collage, and photography.
The signed issues number three and four of 26 of the Noses Elbows And Knees photobook by Mario Sorrenti and John Baldessari are available for pre-order in Saint Laurent Rive Droite’s Paris and Los Angeles stores with a €22,000, or approx. $23,800 price tag.
